Welcome to the website for the July 11th Walk for Heroes. You can download registration forms, read about the walk, and find out all the information you need to on this website. If what you’re looking for isn't here, then please don't hesitate to contact us (see below left).

 

All money from this walk and the fun days hosted by pubs along the way will go to the charity Help for Heroes. If you haven't heard of the charity then you can visit the website on this link www.helpforheroes.org.uk. They do fantastic work raising money for both mentally and physically traumatised soldiers and we want to help!

 

For most of you who probably don't know us, we’re a small group of sisters, mums and friends of those in the forces. Many of you will know of people who have fought, died or been injured in Iraq and/or Afghanistan and maybe wars before that so the cause will probably be as important to you as it is to us. Please help us to raise money to help our wounded - Help for Heroes donate money wherever it’s needed with no politics involved. Combat Stress, for example, a charity for ex-military suffering from profound psychological distress as a result of their services received a sum of 3.5 million from Help for Heroes. Headley Court received the money to build a new complex including a desperately needed swimming pool, gym and research centre. They hope to have the building complete by the spring of 2010! BLESMA, a charity which helps soldiers who have lost limbs or their sight, has recently accepted £100,000 to help rehabilitate those injured in the service of our country.

 

You can raise money for our lads and lasses by walking, running, cycling or in my case staggering around the Staffordshire countryside for 30, 20, 10 or 5 miles -whatever suits you. There is a £5 registration fee which will go to H4H and registration forms can be downloaded from this website and sent to either Dee or Jan -  the addresses can be found by clicking on ‘Registration forms’ on the left and scrolling to the bottom of the page. If you're worried about where you're going to stay - we have a whole campsite booked for walkers or if you need somewhere a bit more luxurious there are plenty of Inns.

Upon receipt of your registration forms with the £5 enclosed, your sponsorship form will be sent to you and you can start fundraising!
